LOW POLY MODELING FOR BEGINNERS

    STANDARD course is for those who are taking the first steps in the world of 3D-graphics. Training is conducted in Autodesk Maya software.

    A special feature of this course is not only a familiarity with the programs of the three-dimensional modeling but also the study of the full production of model. During this training you will get primary skills in graphic packages, become familiar with all components of the game development, you will explore information about polygons and texture, learn how to create simple objects. At the end of the course you have to pass the exam. As a result of the exam you will be ready to enroll on the course “Professional”.

    Autodesk Maya is the instrumental system of 3D-graphics animation, also it has a powerful editor functionality, which is widely used in film, television and computer games. Originally it was developed for the operating system Irix (SGI platform), then it was ported on Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. There are currently both 32 and 64-bit versions of Maya. (Recent Releases Maya is only available for 64-bit systems).
    Maya is named after the Sanskrit word माया (māyā, Maya), which means “illusion”.

    In this course you will get a basic knowledge of:

    • Customizing the program interface;
    • Navigation techniques, camera control, hot key configuration;
    • Work with basic operations on polygonal modeling (Mesh, Edit Mesh, Mesh Tools);
    • Methods of modeling (directly – from a polygon or from a standard primitive);
    • Practical work of material on special techniques;
    • Object layout (UV Texture Editor);
    • Characteristics of basic materials;
    • Independent development and creation of 3d-objects (props) for computer games;
    • Working in a graphic 2d-editor, texture creation;
    • Setting up the scene in Outliner;
    • On the lessons there will be special exercises for modelers to check their attention and speed;
    • The final designing of the work, portfolio (Marmoset).
